Gosh! Too many to count, but those in my top ten include Algernon Blackwood, Sheridan L Fanu, M.R. James, Edith Wharton, HP Lovecraft (who I think is actually kind of terrible but I quite love him anyway), Wilkie Collins, Shirley Jackson, Sarah Waters, Clive Barker…and Stephen King.

On the note of Lovecraft, I think he has great visions and stories, but the flow of the words trips me up. I have a similar problem with Shakespeare, but he’s still cool, too.
